Stumped on what to wear to a BLACK TIE  wedding? Unsure of what "BLACK TIE wedding attire" even means? We've got the answers.

First things first:  Black tie isn't the same as formal. We've broken down black tie guest attire for men and women below.  “Black tie” for women best translates as “long”, and in an evening-appropriate fabric, such as velvet, chiffon, silk or lace. Black tie weddings are great because the dress code is luxurious and grandiose. The phrase "go big or go home" definitely applies to this wedding.


WEDDING ATTIRE FOR MEN

Men can wear a tuxedo, but they don't have to—a suit and tie are also appropriate. Dress shoes fit the bill when it comes to footwear. Consider patent leather loafers for a tux or laced oxfords for a suit.

WEDDING ATTIRE FOR WOMEN

Black tie dresses to wear to a wedding include both evening gowns and elegant cocktail frocks, so pick the hemline you feel best in. That being said, you don't have to wear a dress at all. We're big fans of suits and other dressy separates. Accessorize with heels or fancy flats and jewelry as you see fit.
